WE'RE HIKING THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS!
After doing a ton of research, I found the perfect hiking excursion that doesn't empty your pockets too much. Trek Morocco offers a two-day climb of Mount Toubkal! Mount Toubkal, located in the High Atlas, is the highest peak in North Africa at 13,671 ft. While the trek will be difficult, have no fear, because the website says that beginners can do it. And with such incredible views, you'll forget all about the hard work!

(I dare you to say that those photos aren't breathtaking.)
Basically, you get picked up from Marrakech (there's your transportation) and head to the starting point. At this point, the website probably does a better job of explaining the trail, so here's a screenshot of the page:
And here's the supplementary information:
As you can see, sleeping bags are not provided, and the FAQ section recommends gear such as walking sticks, etc. Fortunately, you can rent most of your gear at Atlas Trek Shop! Atlas Trek Shop is located in Imlil, the village where the two-day trek begins, and it costs a mere 2.5 euros/day to rent a sleeping bag (plus, they have lots of other camping gear). And don't worry about your other luggage, because pack mules are included in the price. (By the way, I cannot believe I just used the term "pack mule" in its literal form.)
But WAIT, there's more! We haven't even gotten to the best part of the trek...
GOATS IN TREES!

I wasn't lying when I said this is a common occurrence in Morocco! These goats climb the argan trees, eat the fruit, and drop the pits. The crushed pits produce what we know as argan oil, or the miracle hair product.
|These women are hard at work extracting oil from argan pits.|
So make sure you finish your tajine, drink your mint shaay, and get a good night's sleep, because you're climbing to the peak tomorrow!
|Mount Toubkal is stunning.|
