The Look For Less: Cynthia Rowley Spring 2014

It's time for The Look For Less!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with The Look For Less, a shopper has a budget of between $100-200 and gets paired with a professional stylist to recreate a runway look from head to toe. On the show, the shopper only gets two outfit options and one hour to shop, but those rules are out the window here. I've set my "budget" for $150 ($100 went a lot further back then), but after taxes (it's 6% in Michigan), that's only $141.50. Let's get started!

I chose a look from Cynthia Rowley's Spring 2014 collection. I just love her use of colors and patterns, and although I can't afford her clothing, I use her pencil eyeliner and lip stain. (Side note: I HIGHLY recommend the lip stain. It can double as a cheek tint, is lasting, and isn't sticky at all. I currently have it in Sugar, but plan to buy all of the colors.)

This look (shirt, shoes, pants) retails for about $720, so let's get the price down by over 75%!

Let's start with the top. Instead of finding a graphic tee, I'm going to layer some statement necklaces over a plain white tee. I love this t-shirt from JCPenney because it's super loose, just like the Cynthia Rowley shirt. Plus, it's only $7.99! Then we have this red beaded necklace from Charlotte Russe on sale for $3.99. As far as the purple florals, I've actually taken to flower crowns. This flower crown from Urban Outfitters and this one from Wet Seal look like they could double well as necklaces, and one of them even has a hint of red!

For the pants, I found these AG Adriano Goldschmied graphic leggings on sale at 6pm.com. The Cynthia Rowley pants look somewhat floral (is it just me, or does the pattern look like oak leaves?), so I thought these leggings were a great fit. At $69.99, they're a bit more than I was hoping to spend, but it can be the "splurge" item.

The shoes on the runway look like strappy ivory heels, and that's just what I found. Amazon has this great pair for only $25.50, and they even look comfortable. Bonus points there!

So for a total of $143.49 ($135.37 before taxes), you've got a look hot off the runway from a fabulous designer. And you even have a few dollars left over!

Shop the look below, along with some of my favorite Cynthia Rowley makeup!
