What's in My Travel Tote?

I don't know about you, but I carry a tote bag everywhere. Seriously, it's like a security blanket for me. I carry my Longchamp to class, the gym, the grocery store, name it. But my favorite part about it is that it's so roomy and durable that it's perfect for travel! Whenever I fly, there are a few essentials I make sure to have with me at all times. Let's take a look!

I never leave the house without my wallet (I know, it's super dirty), phone (not pictured), laptop, and their respective chargers. If I'm going overseas, I also include an adapter and converter or two so I can charge my electronics right away once I land/am waiting for a connecting flight. To keep myself entertained, I usually buy a magazine or two, read a book on my Kindle for Mac app, listen to music (PACK EARBUDS!), or doodle a bit. I love drawing in my Pocket Moleskine notebook using Pilot Pens, but also have a ballpoint pen in case you have to sign any customs forms or declarations. I have a nut allergy, so I often pack my own snacks. While I don't usually chew gum, it's a travel necessity in my opinion (chew it when your ears pop on the plane!). I also include sunglasses, a sweatshirt, and my own eye mask.

Most importantly, my toiletries. Even though I never wear makeup while traveling, I keep my makeup kit in my tote bag so I can glam up before touring or getting off the plane. A pocket mirror (not pictured), a mini hairbrush, bobby pins, and hair ties are also great to keep on hand for that reason! (Plus, if my luggage were to get lost, I'd want a hairbrush and my makeup.) Planes, trains, and automobiles (ha!) tend to have extremely dry air, so I keep lip balm and Tocca Hand Cream with me. All of Tocca's scents are amazing, but Cleopatra is my favorite (it smells like grapefruit and cucumber). As you (should) know, ALWAYS PACK YOUR PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS IN YOUR CARRY-ON. I put it in my tote bag, just in case I decide to check my smaller bag at the last minute. I also include some Motrin in my medications bag, as I'm prone to headaches and never know when I'll need one. Don't be caught without a Kleenex pouch or Band-Aids either. If you get a cut or blister or have to blow your nose, you'll be grateful that you don't have to flag down a flight attendant/get up to go to the restroom.

No matter how long of a flight, train ride, or bus ride you take, you're probably going to fall asleep or sweat off some of your makeup. That's why I always carry these handy dandy Colgate WISP mini disposable toothbrushes. They have a breath-freshening bead inside, so all you need is water to activate its cleaning powers. I also tend to sweat when I'm running around airports and sitting smushed in an airplane for eight hours, so I make sure to have my deodorant and LA Fresh Makeup Remover Wipes. In my experience, there's literally nothing worse than feeling gross and unhygienic while traveling, especially if you're going to start touring right when you step off the plane. And obviously I carry hand sanitizer!

Finally, I keep U By Kotex® Ultra Thin Pads with 3D Capture Core on me in case of, ahem, emergencies. With their new 3D Capture Core feature, they offer more protection than ever right now! And it's your lucky day, because U By Kotex is giving out free samples!

  1. Woah, so many things, I need to take a note of this, because the only thing I take with me is my phone haha. And sometimes my wallet, I'm a disaster haha.

  2. Haha, this is for when I'm going on a train or plane! When I'm just going out and about, I take my phone, wallet, and stuff like my Epi-Pen and sunglasses.

  3. Yeah, I know what you mean and what I told you is what I pack when I go to travel and all that, well, and also to go out.

My sister is the one who does all that, she is like my chaperone. Haha

I'd love to hear what you have to say!
