Traveling in Style

One of the hardest decisions to make when traveling, in my opinion, is what to wear on the airplane. You need to wear enough layers that you can adjust for changing temperatures, but not so many that you're unable to carry them all when you're hot from running through the airport. The most important factor, though, is maintaining that delicate balance while opting for heavier pieces from your wardrobe so you can maximize what goes in your suitcase. It's an art, I tell you.

With my imminent move to France, it's important that I wear bulkier clothes on the airplane but still look cute. I'll be landing in Paris, after all! So, I've put together two possible looks that I could wear on board. And make sure to vote on which look is your favorite!

First up, we have a t-shirt/knit cardigan combo paired with stretchy black skinny jeans, leather boots, and a scarf. It's effortless, uses bulky items, and keeps you cozy on the plane!

This next look features a silky camisole top layered underneath a slouchy sweater. We still have those black jeans and boots, but the scarf and top changed a bit. I think this outfit looks so Parisian, don't you agree?

No matter which outfit I wear, I'll be sure to have U By Kotex® products handy in my carry-on bag. I can't imagine anything worse than ruining an outfit while on an eight-hour flight, but with U By Kotex®'s new 3D Capture Core technology, I won't have to worry. Now you don't have to worry, either, because U By Kotex® is offering free samples!

So, now it's up to you: which outfit should I wear en route to Paris? Vote now!

  2. Looks like slouchy sweater is winning! I love the lipstick by the way! Care to share the make & shade? ;)

  3. both outfits are lovely!! I'd go number 1 mainly because even when its not hot out I melt, so the sweater would be a bit much for me lol!

  5. It's hard to tell, but I'm wearing two different lipsticks! In the black cardigan/Kotex photos, I'm wearing Mac Rebel, and I'm wearing Milani Best Red in the slouchy sweater photos. However, I barely wiped off the red before putting on Rebel, so there's a hint of red underneath! Try red lipliner and then Rebel? :)

  6. Oh yes! Last summer I wore sneakers, yoga pants, a letter shirt, and a hooded zip-up in order to save space. Sure, I saved a bit of space compared to these outfits, but I stuck out like a sore thumb!

  7. Haha I'm either melting or freezing...one extreme or another!

  8. I did the whole sweatshirt/yoga pants/sneakers thing on the plane last year, and I felt SO out of place even on the plane!!! And once we landed, our train to Tours wasn't for a few hours, so we spent a few hours wandering about Paris. Let's just say that this wasn't the look I was hoping for at the Eiffel Tower. (I'm on the left.)

  9. I'm definitely planning on jeans and a nice shirt... but I can't decide on a sweater! I think you look cute, and it's cute to be wearing your letters, but I totally understand how you feel that way. I'm definitely going for outfit number 2!

  10. You're brave...these are stretch jeans haha, I could never wear jeans for that long! I think I'll do outfit #2 but wear the white t-shirt underneath instead of the tank top (so if I get hot I won't look too ridiculous wearing a tank top and leather boots in September haha). When do you arrive?

  11. Jeggings all the way. So stretchy! I think switching the tank top would be a good choice. I am leaving on August 28, and I arrive in Paris on August 29! When do you arrive?

  12. Are you taking a train straight to Caen? Also, have you been to France before on your own (without family or teachers)? I have a ton of tips I can help you with, if you'd like. I arrive the morning of September 23 and start work October 1! But the French gov't recommended we wait to find housing until we arrive, so I gotta do that, set up a bank account, ENROLL IN SOCIAL SECURITY, etc, etc...

  13. We are spending a few days in Paris, so I don't get to Caen until September 1. I've never been on my own before (I've been on a school trip in high school), so I welcome all advice! I contacted you through google+!
