Lille, France - VLOG

I know I haven't even finished posting about my October vacation, but I just spent the weekend in Lille at the marché de Noël (Christmas market). Normally, I'd wait until the rest of the travel posts are up, but this is not only time sensitive (it's Christmas, after all!) but it's also a vlog! Yes, that's right, I tried my hand at vlogging.

So instead of writing about my weekend, I photographed and filmed it.

As this was my first time vlogging, I know the video could have been so much better, so I'd love any tips you may have! (FYI, most of it was filmed on my iPhone 5S.) Also, feedback about whether I should continue to vlog my trips or go back to writing about them would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!

Shoutout to my lovely travel buddies for putting up with me as I experimented with vlogging this weekend. You ladies were great sports!

  9. Marianne where are you currently? :) I spent most of my time at the marché, but the Palais des Beaux-Arts was lovely! And then you can walk around the place there and see Hôtel de Ville, which is just gorgeous. Place Rihour is where all the prettiest buildings are. I hear the zoo is free, too!

  10. It really was! Europe doesn't overdo Christmas in advance, so these markets are still magical even as Christmas approaches.

  13. Really liked your VLOG. Love putting an actual voice to a person. On that note I really have to stop reading your blog (for the best reasons possible of course). Lille looks like the cutest most Chistmacy town and we have next to no signs of Christmas anywhere here. Its unfortunate. Also very jealous of your upcoming trips, both Turkey and Belgium are on my must see list. Have fun when you go to Monaco, I got to visit several years ago!

  18. I'm working as an au pair right now. Thank you for the invitation! :) I'm actually visiting the loire region next week with my mom (she's going to be in France for two weeks). We'll be staying in Vauvray at an airbnb rental for a couple days before heading to strasbourg for Christmas.

  19. Oh, you're going to love Vouvray! Do a wine-cave tour and tasting at Domaine Marc Brédif (technically in Rochecorbon, but walking distance from Vouvray it's so small)--best 6 € I've ever spent!

  20. I am indeed! Excited about it, too!

  21. HAHA you're adorable! I'm spending Christmas in Turkey to get away from it all, actually--I'm Jewish! Christmas usually means nothing to do. But I still appreciate the markets!
